Many of our past pupils also attended St Peter's School or married 'Old Boys' or had fathers, brothers, sons, daughters there, so may be interested.

On Saturday 11th June there will be a Coffee Morning in aid of Brother Lionel's Charity 'Reaching The Unreached' at the home of BETTY SAVORY, 4 Wick Farm, Wick Lane, Southbourne. From 10a.m. until 12 noon.

A future occasion which will be of interest to local members is a concert which is being organised by LORNA ROCKEY (DEEM), who attended both the Convent and St. Peter's School. LORNA'S father has had cancer for some years and recently, Rose Miles, the mother of two of her friends, JOANNA & CATHERINE MILES, from St. Peter's School days, died from cancer aged 52.

All the proceeds from the concert will go to charities, half to The McMillan Unit and half to the Bournemouth Hospital. Lorna teaches dancing and singing, some of her pupils will take part as well as, members of the Julie Adams Stage School, The Bournemouth Welsh Male Voice Choir and others yet to be recruited, possibly a Big Band.

DAVE SANDHAM, the renowned drama producer from St. Peter's for many years, is helping Lorna. It is due to be held on 15th OCTOBER 2005 IN THE DE LA SALLE THEATRE, ST PETER'S SCHOOL, SOUTHBOURNE. Put it in your diaries now.

This year The Anglo- European College of Chiropractic celebrates 40 years of Chiropractic Training in Bournemouth; since the early 80s the College has been in our former convent. At the end of June they are holding a Ball in Bournemouth and were interested in having a speaker to talk about the Convent.

Past Pupil TISH HEATH (KITSON), who is a Librarian there, contacted me through VANESSA BENNETT (LARCOMBE). SISTER RUTH was unable to be there and FRAN GODFREY too was already committed. The tutor who is organising the event will contact me for some information which he can use in his introduction.

THE MOST IMPORTANT DATE: OUR REUNION.

The reunion will be held on the 1st Sunday in July. 3rd. Once again we will be in the hall of St. Thomas Garnet's School in Parkwood Road from 2.30 until 5 - 5.30 p.m.

It is an informal afternoon, you are free to come and go as you please, tea, coffee and fruit squash are available, why not arrange to meet up with friends from your year group. If you would like to try to contact friends we may have an address for you so get in touch. Or you could ask GLENN EDGELEY - LONG to put out a ' Where are they now ?' on the WEBSITE.

If you haven't yet viewed this excellent, nostalgic website please do so at www.rc-churches.net you can easily find your way to the Convent section. I receive e-mails from past pupils who have put their name into a Search and are amazed and delighted to find such a store of photos and memories.

Glenn spent hours going through old School Magazines, most years from 1937, and putting on photos, events, entertainments, sporting fixtures, Past Pupils news etc. There is a wealth of enjoyment to be found.

Glenn has produced a Multi Media CD for your computer, which means you would be able to spend as long as you like browsing through the information without having to be online. If you would like to buy one of these please let me know before the Reunion, if you would like to get one there : MARY BROOKS, address etc. on the front page of the Newsletter, price £1.00 .By mail £1.50, to cover post and packing.

As Chairman of the Committee I would like to thank the Members for their co-operation and help throughout the year. We are preparing for the Reunion, a day we all enjoy very much, but it involves a lot of work and I am aware that these dedicated people have no time during the afternoon to talk to their friends or sometimes even to have a cup of tea.

We would be grateful if some of you would volunteer to give them short breaks from their duties in the Kitchen or on the Entrance and Subscription tables.

This year we are trying a new type of pin on Name Label, the paper ones invariably seem to fall off, which we suggest you leave in a box at the door on your way out, so that it is available for future occasions, as we tend to forget them !

If we do not already have your e-mail address, and you would like to be on our list, provision will be made at the reception tables for you to leave it with us. It will only be used by the association and will not be passed on to anyone else without your permission. If I have some item of interest I occasionally send out an e-mail to all members in my address book.

FOUND - At the end of last year's reunion we found an UMBRELLA, which had been left behind. It has pink and grey flowers and some navy blue background on it. I have it and will take it to the reunion.

We are looking forward to seeing you on 3rd JULY!

CONGRATULATIONS.

We wish every happiness to LOUISE HOLMES (PLACE), who married Greg on 9th January.

We were delighted to hear of the engagement and subsequent marriage of CATRIONA ROSS - TREACHER, to KEVIN ALLEN. CATRIONA was widowed a few years ago, her sons, James and Clayton attend St. Peter's School. Kevin was a teacher at St. Peter's, he tragically lost his wife and daughter to cancer several years ago.

CATRIONA & KEVIN were married in the crypt of Notre Dame de Paris on 14th February. We wish them and their united families many blessings and much happiness.

More happy news was received from ROSS ROBERTSON, former member of Staff with his late wife JUDITH. Ross married the Rev. Sheila Evans at Salisbury Cathedral, with great support from all their children and friends.

Sheila was a widow for 12 years and neither of them had ever contemplated marrying again so they, "feel that God must have had a hand in This !" Last October they met FRAN GODFREY for coffee.

Her third book, a book of prayer entitled, " Thy Will be Done," had just been published. Ross and his wife have found it very helpful and recommend it. We wish Ross and Sheila every happiness.

Another celebration was a surprise party for RITA DONOHUE (ALLUM), who celebrated her 60th birthday in February. The biggest surprise was when her sister BARBARA leapt from a large box, she had come from Califprnia( not in the box !) to join in the party.

Other members of the ALLUM family were present, MARY and her husband, ANNE- MARIE BRIDLE and her husband Jan. ANTHONY and his wife Mische and their son ALEX with his wife PETRINA (KENNEDY); her sister SANDY and their parents THERESA (WARD) and Joe.

TOMMY BROWNING was among several St. Peter's Past Pupils enjoying the occasion.
