A very young "Past Pupil" is Krysia Zagorzycki, who is in Trenton, New Jersey. Krysia has asked to receive the Magazine every year so that she may keep in touch with the Convent of the Cross.
Back to England again, we have letters from all parts. Wendyanne Crawforth (Johnstone) visited the Convent and also wrote to tell us that she and her family had returned from Germany and were living in Shrivenham. Sarah Jane was very pleased to see her Mummy's school, and we hope that her younger sister, Alison, will come next time.
Sister Mary Godric (Kitty Coombes), who is at Westhoe Village, South Shields, and is a "travelling" Medical Mission Sister, sent a photo of Jennifer's clothing as a Poor Clare, and also mentioned that she had met that morning someone who had been a "baby-sitter" with Laura Lofting (Templer), helping to look after her twin sons and small daughter.
Sister Mary Bernadette (Cecilia Turtle) is now in her third year at the College of Music, Manchester, and has the associate conductor of the Halle for her conductor - so only the best is good enough.
Sister Marguerite Coward is teaching at St. Anthony's School, Wythenshaw, and takes an active part in the performances of her small pupils. Sometimes tape-recordings sent to Boscombe give us the opportunity of sharing in the fun.
Sister Marguerite is quite a pioneer - her school is a long distance from our house in Stretford, where the little Community are happy to see the Nursery well established and to help in the parish of St. Hugh of Lincoln.
Sister Mary Agnes Loftus is not teaching at Holy Cross this year, but is herself following a Catechetics course at Strasbourg. Sister Ruth Mary Brown and Sister Catherine Morton accompanied girls from Boscombe and Oaklands on the "Dunera" cruise to the Mediterranean and Rome.
Jean Walsh (Hughes) and Margot Conway (Jones) were also Party Leaders on this occasion. Sister Patricia McLoughlin spent a couple of weeks here in the summer, helping to look after the "Universe" Grammar School Holiday girls.

Mother Frances Boulton was very ill some months ago, but her spirits remain undaunted as ever. She would appreciate the prayers of her former pupils, to whom she gave all her enthusiasm and energy during her long years as Art Mistress here. Please pray also for Mildred Briggs, who is again in hospital and suffering very much.
Mother Welstead receives visits from the oldest group of Past Pupils. Maria Bertiui is especially faithful in calling to see her whenever she comes to Boscombe. An unexpected visitor a few weeks ago was Jessica Worthington, who is now working at the University, Georgetown.
Mrs. Browning (Rita de Souza) is most faithful and is giving her active support to the Concrozians. She kindly consented to preside at the Dinner and Dance. Mary Brooks (Browning) is still in Rhodesia, but the other girls, Paddy, Pauline and Gay, are in England. Barbara (Mrs. Tanner) came for the Reunion and we often see Rita (Mrs. Walker) at school functions because Jill and Jolyon are at school here.
Mrs. Lewis-Manning (Marjorie Lloyd) and Mrs. Trotter (B. Clarke) were present at the Mass on the Diamond Jubilee Day of Mother Sohle, September 14th. Vera Fox-Hawes comes to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve in our Chapel, and so does Joan Hackett, who keeps in touch with us through her Red Cross group (consisting mainly of Convent Boarders) which meets in the Gym every week.
Myrette Parsons (Ash) has decided to resume study as a "spare-time" occupation. As her career was on the science side, she is now thinking of the possibility of an English degree. Mary Brearley wrote telling of the death of her father. Mary herself has been in and out of hospital for some time. We do hope that her health will soon be restored. Who remembers Myrette, Mary, and the others in "Little Women"?
During the summer holidays, Sheila Lee called with Miss Anita Holden, who was on holiday from America. Sheila is now a P.E. lecturer, specialising in "movement", at a Midlands Training College. She keeps up a correspondence with Marion Nefiodovas (Richardson), who is happily settled in Australia and has two children.

Marie Tarrant (Browne) is working at Edgware Hospital and helping with the severely handicapped
girls at John Groom's Crippleage, for her own family is now growing up. Frances Lewis (Vick) was pleased to meet Reverend Mother Howe one day in Guildford.
Helen attends the Convent there and Frances was expecting to send Richard to the Salesian College, Farnborough, when she wrote. Frances gave news of Barbara and her son, Gordon.
Benita Kent and Esme Popplewell are both on the Staff of our Convent at Waterlooville. Alannah Coulthard wrote during the year. She has returned to England and is working in London. Alannah seems to have travelled a good deal while living in Germany and to have found many interests. She still writes to Martha Cardenas. We renewed contacts with some of our former Spanish pupils when their sisters came to Boscombe.
Christine Garcia Accha came to take Maria home, and we had news of Teresa Churrucca from her sister, who spent a year at school. Christina Konyay also sent a long letter, reminiscing about her year at the Convent of the Cross.
