PAST PUPILS' ASSOCIATION MAGAZINE - 1965, Page three

Sheila has settled happily in Staffordshire and enjoys her postas Lecturer in Dance at the Training College. Noreen Cassidy (Ventham) also brought her two little girls to see Sister Mary Agnes, but was unlucky both times as Sister was away. Noreen keeps in touch with Deirdre Foster (Crick), who has been to see us several times. One of the photographs shows her with Mother Welstead at the Children's Party, in the Junior School.

Joan Hacket gave the girls a lecture and demonstration of artificial respiration at the end of the Summer Term. Other Past Pupils have come to support the Concrozians' teams when they have played against the present schoolgirls. A snap taken after one of the matches is published in the Magazine. Several of the younger generation came to watch Mummy play. Among these were Teresa Mason's (Lamb) two little boys and Anna Browning's (Murray) three small boys.

Joan Barney (Schoolbred) recently called to say 'Au Revoir' to Mother Helen, as she has sailed to Malaya to join her son there.

We have to thank Mother Helen (Reverend Mother Vicar) and Miss Wood for collecting the autographs of former pupils who visited our stall at the Vocations Exhibition. This was an occasion of renewing contact with many whom we had not seen for years - Sheila and Monica Danagher (who still keep in touch with Marie Tarrant); Carol Bolwell, now at school with the F.C.J. Nuns at Gumley House.

Betty Simpson (Mason) came and returned with her daughters; Joan Gallagher (Stables), formerly Domestic Science Mistress at Boscombe; Barbara Tanner (Browning); Susan Fendley (now a member of the junior School Staff); Marysia Owsiduka, 37 Malden Hill, New Malden, Surrey, who would like to get in touch with Margaret Collins; Nurse Margaret Chambers, who looked after the boarders for several years; Jadnta Davies.

Maria Bertinu was another welcome caller - she visited Mother Welstead at Boscombe earlier in the year. Kathleen MacGarry (Howard), now living at 31a Park Road, Bromley, Kent, was another surprise visitor. Margaret Collies, Lucy Meade ( Riddle) , Mrs. Doran (Mary's mother), 132a Barnhill Road, Wembley Park, Middlesex, Barbara Egginton (Adamson), Lorna Asrntt (Shadwell) and Frances Cowan are other names which we were pleased to see written in the book.

How interesting it would be if all these and others could pay a visit to Boscombe for one of the Reunions!

Mrs. Pinsent, Anne Schotlander's (Spicer) mother, went to New Zealand to visit Anne and to see her two little grand-daughters. She has ordered Anne's copy of the Magazine and gave a vivid account of their tour of the Island during her holiday there.

Anne Swinbourne ( Wyatt) sent news of the birth of another little daughter, Rachel.

A surprise visitor a few weeks ago was Cecilia Elgar. Cecilia made a complete tour as she had not been to the Convent for about four years. She was sorry not to see Miss Gobell, who has been unable to return to school this term on account of illness.

We all wish her a complete and speedy recovery. Doris Poole came for the Governors' meeting. She now has a charming home in the peace of the Sussex countryside after having lived in London for so long. Deirdre McKinney is also a member of the Board of Governors, to give legal advice when required.

Angela Browning (Knotty) sent us good news. "Our third darlings little girl chose the Feast of the Cross, May 3rd, to make her entry into the world. She is to be called Julia Clare." Kathleen Wigan (Kitchen) wrote in July answering news sent to her of the death of Judy Antonsen. R.I.P. Judy was Head Girl and afterwards trained as a P.E. Mistress. She had been teaching only two or three years.

We offer our deep sympathy to her parents. Masses have been offered for the repose of her soul, at the request of the Community and the Concrozians.

Those who have received The Concroxiar each quarter will already be conversant with the latest news of members, so we shall not repeat it here. Any Past Pupil who has not yet joined the Association, and who would like to become a member and receive the Bulletin four times a year, should communicate with our tireless organiser, Miss Marjorie Wood, 52 Wentworth Avenue, Boscombe (Tel.: Bournemouth 45961) .

The subscription is 5/- per annum (this is apart from the cost of the Magazine, which is now 6/- as the cost of postage has increased). The more Past Pupils enroll, the more possible it will be to keep the subscription as low as possible, so let your friends know and encourage them to join.
