A Brief Description of:         Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.

Place of Meeting

Corpus Christi Presbytery

Time

Alternate Tuesdays at 10.30am for approximately forty minutes.

Co-Ordinator

Kevin McDermott

Function

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) worldwide numbers over 900,000 members in
130 countries. In England and Wales, there are more than 16,000 members who make some
1,000,000 visits per year to people in need.

The members of our Corpus Christi conference visit sick, elderly, lonely or otherwise needy people
in their homes, rest homes, in hospitals, in the local area. They also render support to the homeless,
to single parents, to refugees and to anyone who may need help.

They are able to do this thanks to the prayers and generous support of the parish. No work of
charity is foreign to the SVP and in the UK our slogan is " Turning concern into action".

If you are interested in joining the SVP even if the time of meetings is unsuitable for you, please
contact one of the priests or Keven McDermott
