Antony's Mission Work.
My Work - and all our work - could not continue without YOUR support - Thank You.

Group classes for adults

What will I be doing? -

On the 4th January, I left for Holland, to start a 5-week leadership training course with YWAM After that, following a week at home, I travel to Australia again; this time to be a staff member on the Discipleship Training School (the same course that I was a student on, this year). The next school is to run until September, with outreaches likely in India and Malawi.

YWAM and Kerygma

"Kerygma," is a branch of the global mission organisation, YWAM (Youth with a Mission), and has a special emphasis on working with Catholics. Kerygma runs a DTS (Discipleship Training School) for young Christians who want to grow in their Christian lives, developing their relationships with God, and learning how to evangelise by actually doing mission work.

Born and bred in Bournemouth, ex-pupil of St. Peters' School and a family member of St. Thomas More Church.
- a young man with a mission to help others.

But let him speak for himself.

What have I been doing? -

I joined the Discipleship Training School (DTS) in April 2001. It was an intensive period of study, lectures, and other activities including community work, supporting and serving the local Christian community.

The most important part was where we were able to use the study that we had done on our outreaches. We worked in local schools doing a puppet program for the 5-7 year-olds, a Christian program for the juniors, a Christian Fellowship Group for the secondary school pupils.

We performed several skits and dramas that related the Gospel to people's lives and told several testimonies. The second outreach was to Brunei and Malaysia, from August to September. Here, we were given the great opportunity to lead several youth retreats.

What have I been doing?

We also worked alongside a Catholic Charismatic Community, doing several youth retreats, a village outreach, and helping on prayer nights. The retreats or 'youth rallies' were very powerful, and many young people attested to a real excitement about their faith, following them.

In October, I did an English teaching course, and was able to teach English and about Christianity to the children (from around the world) at the school.

Working in Uganda

Long term prospects -

Where am I going with all this, in the future? My long-term vision is to be skilled enough to do long-term mission work in Africa, working on health care projects with a focus on evangelism.

Prayer Points

For God to guide my decisions.
That I'd be fulfilled in the work.
That enough money would come in.
For those on the new DTS.
More importantly, please keep me in your prayers. I send out a prayer letter via email every month.
Let me know if you want to receive it.
Thanks for thinking of me, and for your prayers and I will let you know how I get on.
Yours in Christ and God Bless You.
Antony

Why I need YOUR help? -

All YWAM workers are volunteers and receive no salary. They must raise their own support to keep them in mission work. Sometimes, this help comes from a church- group, and very often, from individuals. Please pray and think about it if you feel you can assist me financially.

So, I am currently trying to raise some financial support for the next 9 months. Ideally I need a certain amount each month: £200. I would be happy if I can find ten people to support me at £20 each month, or if not, then I'd survive individual donations.

It was God who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service so that the whole body of Christ may be built up."
