Day 32 - onto Arca
Todays' route from Ribadisco to Arca do Pino is oveer 22kms - or nearly 14 miles. We are now just over 26 miles from our destination of Santiago de Compostela.

We follow the trail to Arzua, Pereirina, Calle, Salceda, upto Alto de Santa Irene and down to Arca.

Two thirds of today we walk on natural pathways with good shade offered by the ubiquitous eucalyptus. We start with a climb up into Arzua and end with a climb around the alto de Santa Irene. In between we have a largely level path with just 3 shallow river valleys.
Day 32 - more stamps from the Albergues
Arzua - is the last major centre of population before we enter Santiago. Off the central square to the left is the original Augustinian Church of La Magdalena and nearby is the modern parish church dedicated to St. James with image of Santiago as both Moorslayer and pilgrim.

The camirro continues out through the old quarter of town down c/del Carmen, past the fountain and over stream (site of San Lazaro hospice) and into ancient oak woods through As Barrosas meandering back to the main road where we take another tunnel.

N-547 Tunel continuing over the rio Raido through the tiny hamlets of Raido, Fondevila, Cortobe, Pereirina and Ponteladron whence we cross the arroyo Ladron and up the far side through Calzada and into Callel.

The camino wends its way through Boavista and Alto from where we head towards the main road at Satceda - which stretches along the main road.

The path now veers off right (behind the restaurant) and enters a woodland path. Here, on the right, is a melancholy monument to fellow pilgrim, Guillermo Watt, who died at this spot only a day away from his earthly destination.
